What makes this particular copy unique is that it was printed almost simultaneously with the true first edition. This story, having been printed first in Life magazine, sold over 5 million copies. The first edition had an original print run of around 50,000. Almost immediately, if not simultaneously, a book of the month edition/book club edition was released in a print run of about 150,000 to help satisfy the demand.
Both books share the original jacket design and color, as well as the "A" on the copyright page.
This copy lacks the price of $3 on the dust jacket and the publishers' crest on the copyright page.

Pages are tight. Slight foxing to inside board.
Dust jacket: Good
Slight wear at corners, tear to bottom left. Rear design has a slight pen mark on the nose.
